Given to Fly

I’m in another band called Given to Fly and we’ll be playing Cava Wine Bar July 10th.  Cava is this cool little wine bar located in Capitola nestled in the village.  The wine selection is top notch and the staff is great.  Paul Renslow will be playing flamenco guitar at 7:30pm and then we’ll start playing at 8:30pm.

Tempranillo is here!

I made wine this year with my father in law Paul.  It’s a real great Tempranillo that is fantastic with all sorts of food.  Paul is the real wine maker, I just provided the muscles for the grape press and the new logo design!

Some Recent Photography

Yesterday afternoon I spend some time in Capitola and had a small photo shoot with Paul Renslow of Paulo Guitar.  The light at 7pm was perfect and there were no clouds.

Saw Joe Bonamassa Rock the SJ Jazz Festival this past Sunday.  What an amazing show full of raw energy and the Les Paul arsenal.  Made me go home and start practicing my chops.  Here’s some photos.

Rocking the Vino

Last Saturday the guys and I rocked Ventana Winery. Have you ever heard of wine aged by rock music!
Not the best pic but it was a low light situation…yadda yadda

Slugged

This is a new drawing study I did from some old boxing magazines I have. Damn that dude took a hit. It’s sometimes nice to do a drawing just to do a drawing, with no expectations to paint it up.

In from the dust..

Well we rocked Laguna Seca with all we had on Saturday. It was a good solid set with lots of high points. There was a crap load of wind and dust to contest with so all three of us had some major boogers. I got a bit of blood on my guitar from a cut on my right middle finger-a true rock n’ roll moment. Cheers to Mark H for this pic.

Buckwild’s Bandits will be playing May 17th at Luguna Seca Festival of Speed from 2-2:45 and 3-3:45

Painting away

I’ve been in guitar painting mode the last few weeks.  I’ve got two bodies in the works.  First up is a tele thinline that I stripped off the original thick poly finish and reshot with nitro Daphne blue.  Next up is a Warmoth alder strat body being finished in Seafoam green.  Hoping to have these done around mid June.

Another Friday

Well it was another nice beautiful day today. I did this quick figure study during lunch. Makes me feel like I need to draw a lot more. Where does the time go….
